Drink plenty of fluid if you are at risk of developing antibiotic associated diarrhea. Avoid foods that are irritating to gastrointestinal tract, such as fatty foods, spicy foods, fried foods or any other foods that can aggravate symptoms of diarrhea.


Consider taking anti-diarrheal medications after consulting your doctor. Antidiarrheal medications such as loperamide can be very useful in selected cases and you should always ask your doctor if you are fit candidate for antidiarrheal medications, especially if symptoms do not improve in few days. Never take antidiarrheal medications on your own as they may lead to serious complications if not taken with proper medical advice from your doctor.
